Connect AnythingLLM agents to your calendar and mail through Pear's remote MCP endpoint and your connected iCloud or Microsoft 365 account.

## 1. Prepare a personal connection

[Sign in to Pear](https://pearmcp.com/login), connect iCloud or Microsoft 365, and create an API key in Settings. Keep the key in a private AnythingLLM installation. Before adding personal account access to a shared deployment, establish which users can invoke the server.

Select an agent model with reliable tool support. Even a local model needs network access to Pear, and returned provider data becomes available to the selected model.

## 2. Configure Streamable HTTP

Open Agent Skills, then edit `plugins/anythingllm_mcp_servers.json` in your AnythingLLM storage directory. Merge `pear` into the existing `mcpServers` object.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "pear": {
      "type": "streamable",
      "url": "https://pearmcp.com/api/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_PEAR_API_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

Keep `type: "streamable"`; remote entries default to SSE when the type is omitted. Do not add a local `command` to this remote server entry. Replace the placeholder only in the private local configuration. Protect the file and its backups because the header holds the literal key.

## 3. Refresh and inspect tools

Use Refresh on the Agent Skills page. Select Pear, inspect its status and available tools, and resolve server errors before asking the model to use it.

In an agent conversation, call `pear_provider_status` to check the expected account and ready services. Read one known event next. If tools are available but never called, check the selected agent model and context capacity.

## A focused agent workflow

Try: “Find the meeting with my project team this Friday. Show the time and attendees, then preview a follow-up email for approval.” Review the sending account, recipients, and content before approving a write through Pear.

AnythingLLM Desktop documents MCP tool support. This setup uses tools and does not depend on MCP resources, prompts, or sampling.

## Troubleshooting and removal

For transport errors, check `type` and `url`. For authentication errors, check the full Bearer header and active key in Pear. Repair provider readiness in Pear before retrying that account's tools.

To remove access, revoke the API key in Pear, remove its local entry, and refresh Agent Skills. When replacing a key, update the private file before reconnecting. Inspect error logs without publishing credentials.

## Provider limits and next steps

Available tools depend on the connected provider, account permissions, and client settings. Start with a read, then inspect a preview before approving writes.

Pear's hosted CalDAV connection cannot access Apple's upgraded Reminders store. Only legacy reminder data still exposed through CalDAV is available; reconnecting cannot change this limit. Microsoft To Do is unaffected. Google Workspace is coming soon.

## Sources and compatibility status

Documentation checked on 26 September 2026. Setup guide available; a complete Pear authentication, tool-list, read, and approved-write test in AnythingLLM is still pending.
