ChatGPT + Apple Reminders
Know the Apple Reminders limit before you connect ChatGPT.
The hosted Pear CalDAV connection cannot access the upgraded Apple Reminders store. Reconnecting cannot change that limit; Microsoft To Do is unaffected.
Provider compatibility
Choose a reminder path Pear can actually reach.
Legacy Apple CalDAV reminders only. Microsoft To Do is unaffected.
pear://apple-reminders-limitedWhat you can do
- Pear's hosted CalDAV connection cannot access Apple's upgraded Reminders store.
- Apple may return compatibility tombstones instead of current reminder data.
- Reconnecting iCloud or replacing the App-Specific Password cannot change this protocol limit.
- Microsoft To Do remains available through Microsoft Graph and is unaffected.
From setup to your first request

Try first
Start with a question.
Using Microsoft To Do, remind me Friday morning to follow up with Alex.
Show the legacy Apple CalDAV reminder data this connection can actually access.
Which reminder provider is connected, and does it support this action?
Setup path
Connect once. Keep your apps close.
Choose Microsoft 365 for Microsoft To Do, or use Apple only if legacy CalDAV reminder data meets your needs.
Enable Developer Mode in ChatGPT on the web, then add Pear with the hosted MCP server URL.
If Apple returns compatibility tombstones, do not keep reconnecting; the upgraded store is outside Pear's hosted CalDAV path.
Why it matters
A little less switching.
Recognize Apple compatibility tombstones instead of mistaking them for Pear placeholder data.
Avoid repeated credential resets that cannot expose the upgraded Reminders store.
Use Microsoft To Do now, while modern Apple Reminders would require an EventKit companion.
- Legacy Apple CalDAV data only
- Microsoft To Do is unaffected
- Modern Apple access needs an Apple-platform companion
A few good questions
Before you connect.
Can Pear access upgraded Apple Reminders?
Apple Reminders availability depends on the Apple account. For Apple, Pear can read and write only the legacy reminder lists Apple still exposes through CalDAV. If the account has been upgraded to Apple's newer Reminders store, Pear cannot access those native lists and does not copy them into a separate reminder store. Apple may instead return compatibility placeholders, such as repeated "Where are my reminders?" items; Pear did not create them. Pear's safe fallback hides known placeholders and blocks writes to affected lists. Reconnecting iCloud or replacing the App-Specific Password will not change this Apple limitation. Calendar, Contacts, and Mail are unaffected, and Microsoft To Do uses Microsoft Graph and is unaffected. Full modern Apple Reminders access would require an Apple-platform companion using EventKit with the user's permission; Pear does not currently provide one.
Why do the same placeholder reminders appear in every Apple list?
Apple can expose migration compatibility tombstones through CalDAV when the real reminders are in the upgraded store. They are not reminder content created by Pear, and replacing credentials will not make the upgraded store available through CalDAV.
Does this limitation affect Microsoft To Do?
No. Microsoft To Do uses Microsoft Graph rather than Apple CalDAV and remains unaffected by the Apple Reminders compatibility boundary.
