Illustrative walkthrough

Make room for professional learning.

Take one workshop invitation from iCloud, Outlook or an IMAP mailbox, check the time, and review a calendar block with Pear. Add a Microsoft To Do follow-up only if you need one.

One invitation, one proposed calendar block

Optional To Do follow-up

Check the organiser’s attendance record after the workshop

Step 1: Read one invitation

Choose a real, non-sensitive invitation before trying this. Replace the fictional subject and date with yours, and ask the assistant to use only the selected account and message.

Example requestUsing Pear, show the capabilities of my selected email account and my calendar account. Find the one message I identify by sender, subject and date, then read its body. Extract the workshop title, date, start and end time, timezone and joining instructions. Show the source message identity. Ask me about anything missing or ambiguous. Do not change mail, create anything or open attachments.

What to check

Open that message in your mail app. Compare the sender, date and full timing details with the answer. A search snippet is not the full invitation; an inferred timezone is not a confirmed timezone.

Step 2: Check the calendar before making a plan

Select your learning calendar explicitly and check the workshop’s time window. A limited calendar check only describes the calendars and range you chose.

Example requestList my available calendars and ask which non-sensitive calendar to use. Read events only in that calendar during the workshop’s confirmed time window, and check for an existing copy of this workshop. Show any overlap without moving or deleting anything. If there is no duplicate, propose one calendar block with its exact account, calendar, title, start, end and timezone. Do not create it yet or add attendees.

What to check

Confirm the calendar and timezone, resolve overlaps yourself, and check that no duplicate was found. A calendar block does not register you for the workshop or confirm your attendance.

Step 3: Create the reviewed block once

When the proposal is right, use the available write flow and review its exact fields before approving. Leave the source email unchanged.

Example requestPrepare this exact calendar block through Pear’s available write-approval flow. Include no attendees and no extra email content. Show the destination calendar and confirmed start, end and timezone for review. After approval and successful execution, read back the event. Do not send messages, register for the workshop or change existing events.

What to check

Open the chosen calendar in Apple Calendar or Outlook and compare the saved event with the proposal. If a result is uncertain, inspect the calendar before retrying; a prepared approval is not a saved event.

Step 4: Add an optional follow-up

If useful, make a small task to check the organiser’s attendance record later. Keep official learning records with your organiser or professional body.

Example requestList my Microsoft To Do lists and ask which one to use. Check for an existing task to review the workshop’s attendance record. If none exists, propose one task titled “Check the organiser’s attendance record after the workshop”, with only a due date I confirm. Review the exact list, title and date with me before creating it through the available write flow. Then read it back. Do not mark it complete or submit any record.

What to check

Verify the task in Microsoft To Do. This reminder does not prove attendance, assess learning, calculate credit or submit evidence to a professional body.

If something is missing

The invitation or calendar is missing

Check the selected account, folder, calendar, permissions and date range. Narrow the read to a message or event you know exists. Resolve a failed read before treating an empty response as an empty calendar.

Your client can read but cannot write

Use the reviewed proposal to create the event manually, or choose an eligible write-capable setup. ChatGPT Pro’s read/fetch-only MCP path cannot create the event or task; writes require an eligible Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace. Reconnecting cannot override an administrator’s policy.

The creation result is uncertain

Look for the event or task in the destination app before retrying. If it exists, verify its fields. If the outcome is still unclear, stop and inspect the receipt rather than repeating the request.

Keep the official record in the right place

This walkthrough covers learning administration only. Pear does not register you for an event, certify attendance, calculate professional-development credit or submit an official record. It is not a patient-data workflow. The public sources below explain the planning context; they do not endorse Pear or establish a customer result.

A learning calendar helps you plan time; the organiser or professional body keeps the official activity record. RACGP publishes calendars for supervisors and practice managers, while HETI describes planning and logging professional development through its CPD Home. This example handles the invitation and reminder around that process. Confirm the event details with its organiser and keep any official record in the appropriate service.

HETI professional-development planning

HETI describes planning education and training, with activity records maintained through its CPD Home.

RACGP professional-development calendars and resources
