Connect ChatGPT to Pear MCP

Connect ChatGPT to Pear's hosted MCP server so it can work across Apple iCloud and Microsoft 365 Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, and Mail. Pear gives ChatGPT a real action layer for scheduling, reminders, contact lookup, and inbox workflows without leaving chat.

1. Create your Pear account

Sign up at pearmcp.com, then connect Apple iCloud or Microsoft 365. Apple uses an App-Specific Password. Microsoft 365 uses OAuth. Google Calendar and custom IMAP support are planned for the same hosted endpoint.

2. Create the ChatGPT app

ChatGPT's full MCP app flow is workspace and plan gated. Full MCP support, including write actions, is currently beta for Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces. Pro users can still test custom apps with read/fetch permissions in Developer Mode.

  1. Ask your workspace admin to enable Developer Mode if it is not already available.
  2. Open Settings -> Apps -> Advanced settings and enable Developer Mode.
  3. Create a new app from Apps settings and enter the Pear remote MCP server URL.
  4. Choose OAuth when ChatGPT asks for authentication, then scan tools.
  5. Complete the Pear browser sign-in and consent flow.

Important: ChatGPT's current custom app flow does not show a manual Pear API key field. That is expected. Pear uses OAuth here.

3. Use Pear in a chat

Start a new chat, enable the Pear app from ChatGPT's tools menu, and try prompts like:

  • What is on my calendar today and what should I prepare for?
  • Find a free 45-minute slot next week and create the meeting.
  • Create reminders for these action items and add due dates.
  • Search recent mail from this client and draft a reply I can review.

Keep the app fresh

After a workspace admin publishes an MCP app, ChatGPT uses an approved snapshot of the app's tools. If Pear adds tools or a tool schema changes, refresh the app actions from Workspace Settings before assuming the connector is broken.
