Is this a hosted server or something I run on my Mac?
Pear runs the MCP endpoint and connects to Apple services using the App-Specific Password you provide. Your AI client connects to that endpoint; you do not run a local CalDAV, CardDAV, IMAP, or SMTP bridge. This is a cloud connection, not on-device access through Apple EventKit. See data handling for the service and retention boundaries.
Does an iCloud connection include Drive, Notes, or modern Reminders?
No. The hosted Apple path covers Calendar, Contacts, optional Mail, and usable legacy CalDAV reminder data. It does not expose iCloud Drive, Apple Notes, or the upgraded Apple Reminders store. Choose the provider and task you need before connecting.
Why does one service work while another is unavailable?
Calendar, Contacts, and Mail have separate readiness checks. A calendar result does not establish that Mail is enabled or that Pear has the correct mailbox address. Check provider status and the specific error first. A client plan or permission restriction, or the upgraded Reminders limit, cannot be fixed by reconnecting iCloud.
